Campus Networking and Internet Facility

Around 300 computer systems with latest configurations have been purchased and installed in different labs, and students make use of them.

Two numbers of 300 Mbps  Unlimited Fiber Broadband connectivity from BSNL has been installed  in the Library and the Laboratory for the benefit of the staff and students. Wi-Fi  connectivity is also provided within the campus for the staff and students, through Third Layer Firewall with 10 Access points across the campus.

The  Institute has implemented National Mission on Education through Information and  Communication Technology (NMEICT)   promoted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) in  collaboration with various IITs including IIT Bombay and PSU Major BSNL, India.  This project facilitates  to install 24 x  7 Virtual Private Network (VPN) of 40 Mbps (20 nodes of 512 Kbps each) under  National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology  (NMEICT) Project promoted by MHRD, New Delhi and implemented through BSNL,  Kumbakonam.  Internet access is available  through BSNL-MPLS Cloud with Unlimited data access.

Wi-Fi Access Declaration Forms - Download

The students who wishes to access the Wi-Fi network available in the campus, has to submit the declaration forms, duly filled and attested by the respective Head of the Departments. Students have to bring their laptop for MAC address verification, while submitting their Declaration form.

How to change the Password(s) for the User Account(s)?

The Read-Only Administrators or monitor-only administrators cannot change their passwords from the Admin Console. These administrators can change their passwords using the User Portal.

Note: Password changes through the User Portal only works when authentication is done through Sophos Firewall Local Database. If an external server (AD/RADIUS/LDAP/eDirectory/TACACS+) is used for authentication, administrators or end-users will not be able to change their passwords through the User Portal.
